# updateCollateral

> Add or remove collateral from an Ostium position with the Builder SDK.

```ts theme={null}
await client.updateCollateral({ pairId, idx, amount: '50' });
await client.updateCollateral({ pairId, idx, amount: '-25' });
```

Positive values top up collateral. Negative values remove collateral.
