# setDelegate

> Register a delegate address on Ostium through the Builder SDK.

```ts theme={null}
await client.setDelegate('0xDelegateAddress');
```

Use this to register:

* a delegate EOA for delegated self mode
* a Safe address for delegated gasless mode

For self gasless mode, prefer `setupGaslessDelegation()`.
